Lubricants, pigments and whiteners in PVC formulations

Lubricants control fusion and material flow. Internal lubricants reduce friction between PVC particles, while external lubricants such as OPE wax keep material from sticking to the screw, barrel and die. The balance between the two decides process stability, surface finish and plate-out risk.

TiO2 provides opacity and whiteness as well as UV protection for outdoor products. Optical brightener and ultramarine blue make white look brighter and offset yellowish tones. Snowbrite DB combines all three in one material for more consistent whiteness from batch to batch.

Frequently asked questions

What does OPE wax do in PVC?

OPE wax works as an external lubricant and metal release agent: it keeps material from sticking to the screw, barrel and die, helps control fusion and improves surface finish. Too much can cut output or cause plate-out, so the level is set together with the rest of the lubricant package.

What is the difference between TiO2 and Snowbrite DB?

TiO2 is a single white pigment for opacity and UV protection. Snowbrite DB is a whitener that already contains TiO2, optical brightener and ultramarine blue in the right ratio, so operators weigh one material for a brighter white.

What does OPE wax, TiO2 and pigment cost?

OPE wax, TiO2 and pigment prices follow the market and depend on grade and volume. We offer competitive prices as part of our support for customers. Send a quote request with the grade, application and expected volume, and our team will reply with an offer.
